PENSACOLA, Fla. – The Delta State University women's soccer team completed their last away game of the season in Pensacola, Fla., against the No. 5 University of West Florida Argos. The Lady Statesmen were shutout 4-0 by the Argos to fall to 3-11-1 on the season and 1-7-1 in Gulf South Conference play, while West Florida improved to 11-0-3 overall and 8-0-1 in conference play.

The Argos opened scoring in the first ten minutes of play to take the early 1-0 lead over the Lady Statesmen. Another Argo goal at the 30:57 mark added to the West Florida lead to give them the 2-0 advantage over Delta State, which held going into the half.

Two more unanswered West Florida goals in the 64^th and 72^nd minute of play gave the Argos the commanding 4-0 lead and ultimately the win over the Green-and-White.

Delta State was held to just two shots, two on goal, coming from Erin Tucker and Meredith Wilkes. West Florida controlled the game as they tallied 24 shots, 13 on goal.

The Green-and-White close out the 2013 season at Delta Field on Nov. 1 against Christian Brothers University, which is also senior day. Kickoff is set for 1:00 p.m.
