ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – The Delta State University men's soccer team competed in their last regular season road game in Arkadelphia, Ark., on Sunday afternoon. The Statesmen downed the Ouachita Baptist Tigers by a score of 2-1 in double overtime to improve to 3-13-1 on the season, while the Tigers dropped to 5-9-1 overall.
This match was Delta State's fifth overtime game of the season. The Statesmen are 3-1-1 on the season in overtime matches.
Paul Ochnicki put the Green-and-White in front in the 34
th minute of play on a corner kick from
Amine Rahmani to give the Statesmen the 1-0 lead. The score held at 1-0 going into the half.
Ouachita responded with the equalizer at the 70:06 mark to even the score at one all. The score was tied 1-1 at the end of regulation, leading to extra playing time.
The first overtime was scoreless on both sides of the ball, resulting in the second overtime. At the 105:52 mark
Paul Ochnicki found the back of the net again for the Statesmen, scoring the go-ahead goal on a cross from
Jaxon Lambert to give Delta State the 2-1 lead and the win.
The Green-and-White held the advantage over Ouachita in shots 19-12 and shots on goal 11-8. Ochnicki led the Statesmen as he scored both goals for Delta State, recording three shots and two shots on goal.
Jack Pilley got off four shots and three shots on goal.

Milos Boskovic was in goal for the Statesmen as he allowed just one goal and snagged six saves.
The Green-and-White will close out their regular season play at home at Delta Field against Union University. Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m.
