MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Delta State University men's teams exited the Gulf South Conference Tournament in the first round on Saturday, April 20, at the Lagoon Park/Olean Black Underwood Tennis Center.
The No. 43 Statesmen (10-6) dropped a 5-4 decision to the University of Alabama-Huntsville to conclude the 2013 season.
Tobias Rausch and
Jean-Michel Limery picked up the lone doubles victory of the match over Fredrick Graaner and Guilhermo Reyes 8-3 to trail 1-2 going into singles play.
In singles matches No. 3 and No. 5 Rausch and Limery picked up two of the three wins with
Sebastien Rajaonary picking up the third in a three set thriller over Raphael Oliveira in the No. 6 singles play.
The Statesmen finish the 2013 season ranked No. 43 nationally and No.8 in the NCAA DII South Region poll.
