Results - West Florida

MONTGOMERY, Ala. –
The 2014 Delta State men's tennis season has come to an end after Saturday's lost to No. 1 West Florida in the semifinal round of the Gulf South Conference Tennis Tournament.

After defeating the University of Alabama in Huntsville on Thursday, the No. 43 Statesmen were scheduled to take on the undefeated Argos the following day. However, due to inclement weather conditions, the match was moved to Saturday with a 9:00 a.m. start time. DSU's last meeting against UWF resulted in a 9-0 loss.

In their second meeting of the year, Delta State was not able to gain any momentum throughout the match against undefeated West Florida. DSU were swept in both singles and doubles play. As a result, the Argos topped the Statesmen, 5-0. The Green-and-White end the year with a 9-7 record, going 5-3 in the GSC.

It could be a tough offseason for DSU, as they will be losing three seniors, including the successful doubles team of Guillaume Lacour and Florian Mondoloni. The duo has played in all fourteen matches this season, going 8-6. Individually, Lacour ends the season 7-5, while Mondoloni lead the team with 10 wins in singles. Sebastien Rajaonary will be the third senior departing this year. Although Rajaonary struggled in singles play with a 4-5 record, he was very successful teaming with Clement Depreeuw and Daniel Veiga, combining for a 8-5 doubles record.
