GAME NOTES: Delta State Lady Statesmen at Lee University (2.21.15)
CLEVELAND, Mississippi – Delta State University women's basketball faces its final regular season road test of the season against Shorter University on Thursday at 5 p.m. in Rome, Georgia, before playing Lee University on Satuday at 1 p.m. in Cleveland, Tennessee. The Lady Statesmen, who have won seven of their last eight games and three straight overall, own the third place position in the Gulf South Conference standings, two games ahead of West Georgia and one game behind second place West Florida with three regular season games remaining. Delta State defeated Shorter (1.10.15) and Lee (1.12.15) in Cleveland, Mississippi in the previous meetings.

Delta State is 14-6 and sits in third place in the Gulf South Conference race entering Saturday's game at Lee University. The Lady Statesmen are tied with West Florida (14-6) in second but in third by virtue of UWF's two wins over DSU.
Two For The Road: Shorter and Lee mark the final two regular season road games for Delta State in 2014-15. The Lady Statesmen are 6-6 on the road and have won six of their last eight games. DSU is averaging 60.4 points and 30.4 rebounds per game and is shooting 44.7 percent from the field away from home. Seneca Walton is averaging 14.2 points, 6.9 rebounds and is shooting 51 percent. Chelsey Rhodes is averaging 13.9 and 2.5 assists while Rhandi Ball 12.2 points, 5.5 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 2.2 steals.
1.10.15 vs. Lee: Delta State captured a 54-49 win over visiting Lee University. Chelsey Rhodes scored 19 points and Seneca Walton had 10 points and six rebounds. Rhandi Ball collected a game-high 14 rebounds along and chipped nine points. (See Full Box Page 13).
1K Point Club: Seneca Walton has 1,231 career-points, and needs two points from Betsy Hubbs for 25th. Chelsey Rhodes scored eight points and is 28th on the career-scoring list with 1,108. Rhandi Ball has 1,039 career-points after her seven point outing against SU, 13 points from moving into 33rd.

Rhandi Ball is second in the GSC with 2.5 steals per game, sixth in assists, 2.7 per game, 11th with 6.1 rebounds per game and 15th in scoring with 11.1 points per game. Ball had six steals against SU and is ninth with 230 career-steals.
Chelsey Rhodes is DSU's top free throw shooter, making 83.4 percent, second in the GSC, while her 15.5 points per game is fifth. The Monticello, Arkansas, native is eighth in field goal percentage (39.9), ninth in 3-point field goals per game (1.9) and 11th in assists (2.3/game). Rhodes has scored in double digits in 18-of-24 games, including six games with 20-plus points. Rhodes' is sixth on the career 3-point field goals made (135) and fourth in career 3-pointers attempted (389).

Seneca Walton ranks eighth in the GSC with 6.7 rebounds per game and 12th with 12.6 points per game. The Clarksdale, Mississippi, native has scored in double figures in 16-of-22 games, including four games with 20-plus points after her 27 point outing against UNA (2.14.15). Her 118 career blocks rank seventh and her 791 career rebounds rank 12th. She has three double-doubles this season against Union (1.29.15), at West Georgia (1.24.15) and at Shorter (2.19.15).
Lloyd Clark Court: The Walter Sillers court was officially named Lloyd Clark Court on Jan. 10, 2015. Clark led the Lady Statesmen program for 19 seasons, winning three NCAA Division II titles (1988-89, 1989-89, 1991-92) and 10 GSC Championships. The Drew, Mississippi, native compiled a 494-98 record and a 206-38 GSC mark.
