Lady Statesmen Basketball Inks Itawamba’s Kneeland

CLEVELAND, Mississippi – Itawamba Community College standout Kaelin Kneeland has signed a national letter of intent to play women's basketball for Delta State University in 2015-16 announced Lady Statesmen Head Coach Craig Roden on Friday.
 
"We are extremely excited to have Kaelin join our team," Roden said. "She was the most aggressive rebounder in the Mississippi Junior Colleges and should fill a big need for us this upcoming season."
 
During her sophomore season, Kneeland was named to the Mississippi Association of Community and Junior College's (MACJC) North All-Star team, the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region 23 All-Tournament Team, and earned MACJC Women's Player of the Week honors once.
 
Kneeland, a 5-9, forward, averaged 12 points and 8.8 rebounds per game while helping the Lady Indians to the NJCAA Region 23 Championship, and a berth in the national Tournament in 2014-15. Kneeland also shot 51.6 percent from the field and recorded 17 steals.   The Olive Branch, Mississippi, native averaged 8.2 rebounds and 10.6 points per game in conference play.
 
Delta State finished the 2014-15 season 19-10 overall and 15-7 in the Gulf South Conference, claiming a runner-up finish in the GSC Tournament.
