How It Happened- Shorter carried a 15-10 lead into the second quarter.
- The Hawks opened the second quarter on a 15-0 run to take 30-10 lead after Taylor Adams free throws at the 3:57 mark.
- Shorter outscored the Lady Statesmen 24-2 in the second quarter to take a 39-12 lead at halftime.
- The Lady Statesmen outscored Shorter 26-10 in the third quarter, cutting the deficit to 49-38 on a Chelsey Rhodes jump shot with six seconds left in the third.
- Rhodes scored 14 of the Lady Statesmen 26 third quarter points.
- Delta State outscored Shorter 26-10 in the third quarter and opened the fourth quarter on a 14-6 run to trail 55-52.
- The Lady Statesmen cut the lead to 58-54 on Rhodes Layup with 2:48 to go in the fourth quarter and climb to within one, 61-60,3 on a Kaelin Kneeland basket with 10 seconds left.
