How It Happened- Delta State started the game on an 11-0 run with Chelsey Rhodes and Becca Ruckes combining for all nine points during the stretch.
- Rhodes connected on a jumper at the foul line with three seconds left to give the Lady Statesmen a 17-7 lead heading into the second quarter.
- The Lions cut the lead to 24-14 with 3:47 left in the second quarter only to see the Lady Statesmen go on a 7-0 spurt to build a 31-14 halftime lead after a Rhodes jump shot with three seconds remaining.
- The Lady Statesmen shot 52 percent from the floor, while the GSC's top defense limited the Lions to 15.4 percent shooting and seven percent beyond the arc in the first half.
- North Alabama cut the DSU lead to 37-15 with 5:34 to go in the third quarter, but the Lady Statesmen outscored the Lions 10-6 to hold a 47-31 lead heading to the fourth quarter.
