CLEVELAND, Mississippi - After notching their third victory and first win on the road this season, the Delta State University Lady Statesmen basketball team is primed for their first Gulf South Conference weekend on the road as they travel to Shorter University and Lee University for a pair of conference matchups.

TIP-OFF NEWS AND NOTES
- This will be the 12th meeting all-time between Shorter University and Delta State, with the Lady Statesmen in control of the all-time series 10-1. Delta State and Lee are tied 3-3 in the all-time series.
- Delta State looks to build on its comeback overtime victory on the road at Miles College 59-54, which was the first road win for the Lady Statesmen on the year.
- Sophomore point guard Alondrea Rush hit a three-point field goal with seconds remaining in regulation to send the game to overtime, and DSU outscored the Golden Bears 16-11 in the overtime period. This marked the first overtime contest for the Lady Statesmen this season.
- The Lady Statesmen had three players in double-figures against Miles, with Rush scoring 10 points. Senior post player Aspriona Gilbert tallied 12 points and senior guard Anissa Jackson paced the way with 14 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists.
- Delta State has four of it's five starters averaging in double-digits this season. Rush is leading the way scoring 11.7 points per night, while Gilbert (11.3 ppg), Jackson (10.2 ppg) and senior forward Kaelin Kneeland rounds it out at 10 points per contest.
- Carly Keller continues to play an important role off the bench for Delta State, averaging 5.8 points and 1.7 assists and 21 minutes of action each game.
- Delta State has out-rebounded five of their six opponents on the year, with post players Kneeland and Gilbert leading the charge at 8.2 rebounds per game and 5.0 rebounds per game, respectively.
- The Lady Statesmen will have their hands full with Shorter, as senior Taylor Adams is scoring 24.2 points per game and 13.3 rebounds per contest. The Hawks also have sophomores Kayla Tillie and Raven Fair shouldering a bulk of the load as well, with Tillie averaging 12.2 points and 2.7 rebounds in 36.5 minutes per game and Fair averaging 10.7 points and 7.8 rebounds.
- The Lee University Lady Flames will also present a challenge for Delta State with their balanced scoring attack. Junior Carrie Cheeks leads the charge at 15.7 points and 11.6 rebounds per game. Junior guard Erin Walsh is adding 14.6 points a game, while also shooting 40% from the floor. The Lady Flames have three other players averaging at least eight points per game, including freshman Abby Betram (8.7 ppg), freshman Lindsey Roddy (8.6 ppg) and junior Haley Cornellison (8.1 ppg).
