CLEVELAND, Mississippi - After dropping a pair of tight games on the road before the holiday break, the Delta State University women's basketball team will continue Gulf South Conference play as it hosts Union University before traveling to Christian Brothers University in its fourth and fifth conference games of the season.

TIP-OFF NEWS AND NOTES
- This will be the 12th meeting all-time between the Lady Statesmen and Union University, with DSU leading the series 7-4. Delta State has control of the all-time series against Christian Brothers, owning a 40-3 record against the Lady Buccaneers.
- The Lady Statesmen are looking to snap a two-game losing streak after dropping road contests at Shorter and Lee.
- Sophomore point guard Alondrea Rush, a year removed from starting all but one game for Delta State, leads the team in scoring. The Horn Lake, Miss. native is averaging 11.9 points and also leads the team in assists (2.5 per game), steals (2.5 per game), minutes (33.5 minutes per game) and three-point field goals (16).
- Seniors Aspriona Gilbert and Kaelin Kneeland have been the two mainstays in the post for the Lady Statesmen this season. Gilbert is second on the team with 11.1 points per game and is averaging 4.9 rebounds per contestl. Kneeland is the leading rebounder, with 6.9 per game, while adding 9.8 points per game.
- Senior Anissa Jackson has done a little bit of everything for the Lady Statesmen in her final campaign. Jackson is averaging 9.0 points, 4.4 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.1 steals per game, while also shooting 44.4% from the floor. She is also second on the team in minutes played, averaging 33.4 minutes per contest.
- Junior Carly Keller continues to carve out an important role off the bench, averaging 5.0 points, 1.0 assist, and 1.0 steal. The Madisonville, La. native is also second on the team in three-point field goals with eight.
- The Lady Statesmen will have their hands full with the Union University offense, as the Lady Bulldogs lead the Gulf South Conference in scoring at 82.1 points per game. The Lady Bulldogs have six players averaging in double-figures, with sophomore guard Jada Smith leading the charge at 16.2 points per contest.
- Jada Perkins (14.1 points per game), Chelsea Bodiford (12.3 points per game), Bria Gaines (12.0 points per game), Sara Lytle (11.8 points per game) and Fredi Nielsen (11.6 points per game) also help shoulder the offensive load for the conference's top offense.
- Christian Brothers is lead by senior Samantha Reeves. The Somerville, Tenn. native is averaging 14.5 points, 4.9 rebounds and 2.5 assists. Courtney Banks and Madison Luckett are scoring 10.9 points per game and 10.5 points per game, respectively, for the Lady Bucs offensive attack.
