Will Robertson's offense and
Tre Hobbs' stellar pitching.

HOW IT HAPPENEDGAME ONE- Delta State took an early edge, 1-0, in its first at-bat on an Ethan Gill RBI-single to right field, scoring Brandon Cummins.
- The Sailfish answered in the top half of the second with two runs on two hits and a DSU error, taking the lead 2-1.
- In its next at-bat, Palm Beach Atlantic plated another run on a Corey Beard wild pitch to go up 3-1.
- PBAU's Julian Bilodeau used a sacrifice fly, scoring Andrew Calderone and extending its lead to 4-1.
- The Statesmen made some noise in the bottom of the fourth by scoring two runs. With a couple of runners in scoring position, Erick Santiago drove in his first RBI of the season, plating Jacob Swiney on a sacrifice fly. In the next at-bat, Cummins reached on a fielder's choice to score Matt Barrett, notching the score at 4-3 in favor of the Sailfish.
- Palm Beach added five more runs to the DSU deficit, four in the fifth and one in the seventh, to take a 9-3 lead into the eighth inning.
- Delta State began its comeback effort in the bottom of the eighth with four runs on five hits to trail the Sailfish 9-7. Giambrone hit a two-RBI double to left field and Robertson singled to bringing Giambrone home, while Colton Welch walked with the bases loaded to close the gap to two runs.
- The Sailfish responded in their final at-bat with five runs on four hits and one DSU error extending the lead to 14-7.
- DSU left the bases loaded in the bottom of the ninth to fall in game one, 14-7.
GAME TWO- Palm Beach Atlantic carried its offensive momentum into game two, taking the early 1-0 lead in the top of the second.
- The Statesmen took their first lead since the first inning in game one, 2-1, in the bottom of the fifth when Robertson doubled to center field, scoring Juwan Burney and Santiago.
- That lead proved to be enough, as Delta State bounced back for the 2-1 victory in game two.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORES- The Green-and-White left 17 runners on base in game one. Ten of those were in scoring position.
- Will Robertson continued his strong play at the plate, as the redshirt senior went 5-for-9 on the day with three RBIs, including the game-deciding two-RBI double in game two.
- Game one's starter, Corey Beard, was the third Statesmen newcommer to start on the hill for DSU this season.
- Tre Hobbs' (2-0) strong 6.2 innings pitched kept the Green-and-White in the game, as he allowed just one earned run on seven hits.
- On the year, Delta State has won three one-run ball games at Ferriss Field.
