Lady Statesmen Face Big Homestand Against Shorter, Lee

CLEVELAND, Miss.– The Delta State University (17-5, 14-5) women's basketball hosts a key Gulf South Conference weekend against Shorter University on Thursday at 5:30 p.m. and Lee University (16-8, 13-6 GSC) on Saturday at 2 p.m.

Delta State will honor seniors Chelsey Rhodes, Becca Ruckes and Antoinette Riddle prior to Saturday's game against Lee University.

Delta State and Shorter (14-5) enter Thursday tied for second in the GSC standings with Lee and West Florida (13-6) tied for third.

Ruckes scored 18 points and helped Delta State overcome an 18-point second half deficit to earn a 62-58 win at North Alabama.

Rhodes ranks eighth on DSU's career scoring list with 1,623 points and needs 32 points to pass Tanya Redmond (1,662/7th/1995-98) and Caroline Boclair (1,663/6th/1998-01) for sixth.
