The Green-and-White remain at the top of the league's defensive statistical categories. They rank first in scoring defense (65.9 ppg), field goal percentage defense (39.9%) and rebounding offense (39.9 rpg). DSU also ranks first in free-throw percentage (74.6%), led by senior
Jack Madgen who leads the GSC (89.7%).
Schmidt, a native of Sevierville, Tennessee, eclipsed 1,600 career points at Christian Brothers. The junior guard now has 1,619 career points and needs 181 points to become the all-time leading scorer. He can accomplish the feat if he averages 25.9 points in the remaining regular season contests and needs seven made 3-pointers to take the top spot in the DSU record book in three-pointers made and attempted. Averaging 24.2 points per game, he ranks second in the league and is tied for fifth in NCAA Div. II.
