CLEVELAND, Miss. – Arkansas Monticello (9-6) used a three-run seventh to claim a 4-1 win over Delta State University 9-6) on Wednesday at Harvey Stadium-Ferriss Field. Senior Erick Santiago went 4-for-4 to lead the Statesmen at the plate.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Boll Weevils took a 1-0 lead in the top of the third. Alex Smith drew a lead off walk and scored on a Brian Ray single.
  • Delta State tied the game on a Colton Welch sac-fly in the bottom of the fourth. Ben Pickard doubled and was thrown out at the plate after a Dakota Glore single to right field.
  • The game remained tied until the Boll Weevils posted a three-run seventh. Nick Piraino singled and Ray doubled and scored on a Corey Wood home run to left.
  • The Statesmen left nine runners on base including five in scoring position on the afternoon.
