Will Robertson belted his 25
th and 26
th double to set the single season record while helping No. 15 Delta State University (30-13) sweep a doubleheader from Ouachita Baptist University (12-30) on Tuesday at Harvey Stadium-Ferriss Field. The Statesmen captured game one, 5-3, before taking the nightcap 3-2.

HOW IT HAPPENED (GM1)
- Trent Giambrone singled with one out and came home on Will Robertson's sixth home run of the season to give the Statesmen a 2-0 edge in the first.
- Ouachita Baptist cut the deficit in half in the third on a home run by Preston Speers.
- The Statesmen got the run back in the bottom of the third on a Robertson RBI double.
- Erick Santiago singled and after taking second on a wild pitch, scored on a Matt Barrett single to extend DSU's lead to 4-1.
- OBU pushed two runs across in the sixth to cut the DSU lead to 4-3. Will Wallace doubled home a run, while Speers singled in the second run.
- Jacob Swiney tripled with two outs in the sixth and scored on an Erick Santiago bunt single to give the Statesmen a 5-3 lead.
- Zach Osbon (2-0) gave up a run on five hits with five strikeouts to earn the win.
- OBU starter Kason Kimbrell (0-2) took the loss, allowing two runs on three hits with a strikeout.
- Jake Brumfield (2) recorded his second save allowing no runs on two hits with one strikeout in 1.1 innings of work
HOW IT HAPPENED (GM 2)
- DSU put up three runs in the bottom of the third to take an early 3-0 lead. Ethan Gill had an RBI, while a run scored on a wild pitch and a throwing error.
- A Preston Speers two-run home run cut the DSU lead to 3-2 in the top of the second.
- The Statesmen had runners in scoring position in the third, fifth and sixth innings but could not produce a run.
- Corey Beard (1-1) yielded two earned runs on two hits with two strikeouts to record the win.
- Zach Gloff gave up three runs, two earned, on three hits as the pitcher of record for OBU.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORES
- Beard recorded his first career complete game in the game two win for DSU.
- Robertson had a double in each game to set the DSU single-season doubles record with 26 passing Mike Kinnison, Dee Haynes and Edwin Maysonet. His two-run home run in the first inning of game one was his sixth, tying Colton Welch for second on the team. His three RBIs in game one was his 18th multi-RBI game this season.
- The Statesmen improved to 23-6 when scoring first and 16-4 when scoring in the first inning.
- Delta State is now 7-4 in one-run games and has outscored opponents 56-13 in the first inning this season.
- The Green-and-White lead the overall series with Ouachita 44-14.
