HOW IT HAPPENED
- Drew Wheeler singled and scored when Alex Bravo grounded in a double play to give the Delta Devils a 1-0 lead in the opeening frame.
- The Statesmen scored five runs in the top of the second to take a 5-1 lead. Luke Stanley's squeeze bunt single scored Ben Pickard. Will Robertson belted a three-run home run to highlight the five-run inning.
- Three runs crossed the plate in the fourth push the Delta State lead out to 8-1. Stanley reached on an error and Brandon Cummins walked to start the inning. Giambrone's single scored Stanley and Cummins scored on a Robertson single. Colton Welch's sac-fly plated Trent Giambrone to end the scoring in the fourth.
- The lead grew to 14-1 with a six-run fifth. Giambrone delivered a bases clearing double and Austin McClain had a pinch-hit two-run single.
- A Juwan Burney's pinch-hit two-run double in the sixth extended the Statesmen lead out to 16-1.
- Junior reliever Zach Osbon (1-0) worked 2.0 innings in relief and did not allow a hit with a strikeout to earn the win.
- MVSU starter Fred Spencer (1-3) allowed five runs on four hits in two innings of work picking up the loss.

- Luke Stanley had a career-high two hits and drove in his first run of the season.
- Robertson's three-run home run in the second inning was his third home run in three games.
- Robertson's four RBIs increased his GSC-leading total to 45 RBIs, including 17 RBIs in the last four games.
