CLEVELAND, Miss. – The Delta State University men's soccer team plays host to a pair of Gulf South Conference foes this weekend, as the Statesmen gear up for a Friday, Oct. 6 contest against the University of West Alabama at 3 p.m. and a Sunday, Oct. 8 tilt against Alabama Huntsville at 3 p.m. at Delta Field.

INSIDE THE SERIES:
- West Alabama holds a 4-1-1 advantage all-time over the Statesmen, falling 5-0 in Livingston, Ala. in their last matchup last season.
- Alabama Huntsville is 14-2 in the all-time series over Delta State, knocking off the Statesmen 5-1 a year ago.
ABOUT WEST ALABAMA:
- The defending conference champion Tigers are 7-2 overall on the season, including a 3-1 mark in GSC play.
- West Alabama's only blemishes are to Lynn and Spring Hill, and they have won four consecutive games.
- Ali Brador, a native of Ronchin, France, has scored six goals and tallied a pair of assists to total 14 points.
- Liam Ireland, has also helped lead UWA to their hot start. The Edinburgh, Scotland native, has four goals and one assist for the Tigers' offensive attack.
- The Tigers, who have won three straight GSC titles, are currently tied for fourth in the GSC table with nine points.
ABOUT ALABAMA HUNTSVILLE:
- Alabama Huntsville is 4-4-1 on the season, but hold a 3-0-1 record in GSC play.
- UAH is led by senior forward Jordan Wright, a West Lothian, Scotland native who has five goals and one assist to his credit this season.
- Sophomore defender Corentin Diverres has added two goals and two assists to help spark the UAH offense, which sits fourth in the league in scoring average at 1.67 goals per game.
- The Chargers currently sit third in the GSC play with 10 points, trailing Mississippi College (15) and Christian Brothers (12).
UP NEXT:
After contests with West Alabama and Alabama Huntsville. the Statesmen travel to St. Charles, Mo. to play a midweek game against Lindenwood on Oct. 11 in non-conference action. The Statesmen then continue GSC play when the travel to Clinton, Miss. to take on Mississippi College on Oct. 15 at 3 p.m.
