JACKSON, Tenn. – Barry outscored the Delta State University women's basketball team 36-25 in the second half to earn a 63-52 victory on Saturday in the Gulf South Conference/Sunshine State Conference Crossover at Fred DeLay Gymnasium.

How It Happened:
- The Lady Statesmen opened the contest with a 15-11 lead after the opening quarter, as Alondrea Rush had nine points on 3-of-4 from three-point range. Â
- DSU led by as many as five points twice in the quarter, but Barry responded with a 7-0 run to help take a 27-25 lead with 1:11 left in the half.
- Erin Kate Richardson's steal and layup with nine seconds left helped the Lady Statesmen tie the game at 27 after the first half.
- Barry shot 11-of-23 (47.8 percent) in the first half, while holding DSU to just 10-of-28 (35.7 percent).
- The Buccaneers used a 9-4 run to open the second half, and did not relinquish the lead the rest of the way. Â
- A pair of free throws by Kiara Palmer gave Barry a 54-43, and led by as many as 12 to put the game away in the fourth quarter.
- After shooting 47 percent in the first half, Barry matched the same effort, going 13-of-28 in the second 20 minutes. The Bucs finished 7-of-21 (33.3 percent) from three-point range and 8-of-9 from the free throw stripe.
- Delta State was 12-of-29 (41 percent) to finish 22-of-57 (38.6) for the game. The Lady Statesmen were just 3-of-6 from the free throw line.
- Barry finished the game with a 34-28 advantage on the boards. Â
- Rush led all scorers with 24 points, including 14 in the first half. Takisha Jordan added nine, while Simone Jackson chipped in eight points to lead the Green-and-White. Jordan also had six assists to lead DSU.
