Lady Statesmen Travel to Miles for Non-Conference Contest

CLEVELAND, Mississippi – The Delta State University women's basketball team (0-3) will look for its first victory of the season on Monday, Nov. 27 when it travels to Fairfield, Ala., to take on Miles College in a non-conference contest.

TIP-OFF NEWS AND NOTES
 
  • This will be the 9th meeting all-time between Miles and Delta State, with The Lady Statesmen leading the series 8-0. DSU claimed both meetings last season, including a 59-54 road victory that came in overtime.  
  • In two games against Miles last season, Alondrea Rush averaged 11.5 points.
  • The Lady Statesmen look to bounce back from a narrow 51-45 defeat at Spring Hill on Nov. 16.
  • Rush leads DSU with 16.3 points per contest, including a career-high 24 against Barry on Nov. 11.
  • In two contests, Takisha Jordan has averaged 9.5 points, four rebounds and four assists.
  • At Spring Hill, freshman Raven Johnson posted a career-high seven points and seven rebounds in just 15 minutes.
  • Miles College(1-3) enters Monday's tilt coming off of a 53-49 setback at home against Clark Atlanta on Saturday, Nov. 25. Victoria Sutton leads Miles with 12.5 points per game, while Jasmine Hollis averages a double-double with 11.8 points and 10.5 rebounds per contest.

DSU is scheduled to begin its home slate and its Gulf South Conference schedule when it hosts Christian Brothers on Thursday, Nov. 30. Tipoff is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
