MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Delta State University women's basketball team outscored the Auburn University at Montgomery Warhawks 30-23 in the second half, and went 6-for-12 from three-point territory in that span, to secure a 50-43 win on the road to run their win streak to three games on Saturday afternoon at the AUM Gymnasium in Gulf South Conference action.

TURNING POINT:
- With the score tied at 22 at the 7:12 mark of the third quarter, junior Maddy Sheraka drilled a three-pointer in front of her own bench to help DSU to a 25-22 lead, and Delta State did not give up the lead the rest of the way en route to the seven-point road win.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- The Lady Statesmen went 17-of-53 (31 percent) from the field, and hit 8-of-24 from three-point territory (33 percent). DSU also went 8-of-10 from the free throw line in the contest.
- The Warhawks were15-of-48 (31 percent) from the field, and were just 6-of-20 from downtown (30 percent). AUM added a 7-of-8 mark (88% at the free throw line)
- Delta State and Auburn Montgomery each pulled down 35 rebounds as team, led by seven from Simone Jackson (DSU) and nine from Jemaiya Lee (AUM).
- DSU forced 19 AUM turnovers, while each team had 16 points in the paint.
- DSU got 15 bench points to just nine from the Warhawks.
- Evelina Avleeva led the way for Auburn Montgomery with 13 points, and added five rebounds and one assist.
- Aaliyah Milord added 10 points and added one rebound, two assists and two steals.
INSIDE THE FLOW:
- The Warhawks owned the first quarter, getting out to an 8-4 lead before taking the 13-9 advantage into the second quarter. Avleeva hit a three-pointer at the fist quarter buzzer to give Auburn Montgomery the four-point lead.
- The Lady Statesmen outscored the Warhawks 11-7 in the second quarter to tie the game at 20-20 going into the first half, led by Simone Jackson's four points in the quarter.
- Delta State stormed out of the locker room, using a 10-4 run to take a 30-24 lead behind behind three's from Sheraka and Alondrea Rush.
- DSU outscored AUM 15-10 in the third quarter in taking a 35-30 lead to the final stanza.
- AUM made a run behind Makaylla Bullard, who hit a layup and three-pointer to help cut the lead to one, 38-37, as part of a 7-3 sprint to open the fourth.
- The Lady Statesmen defense clamped down from then on, howver, holding AUM to just six points the rest of the way and outscoring the Warhawks 12-6 over the final 8:38 to secure the win.
NOTABLES:
- Delta State held their third-consecutive opponent to less than 50 points, and lead the GSC in scoring defense in giving up 53.3 points per game.
- Alondrea Rush hit four three-pointers, giving her 116 total on her career. Rush now sits alone in 8th place all-time in three-pointers made in program history.
- Aliyah Herod had a career-high two blocks, including stuffing Evelina Avleeva's potential game-tying three-pointer with 17 seconds left.
- Erin Kate Richardson tied her career-high with eight points in 25 minutes of work.
