MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Delta State University men's basketball team held West Georgia to just seven field goals in the second half and outscored the Wolves 39-24 in that span to win their second consecutive road game, besting UWG 76-56 in Gulf South Conference action on Monday night at The Coliseum.

TURNING POINT:
- Delta State held West Georgia to just 29 percent shooting and just 24 points in the second half, and shot 55 percent from the floor on the offensive end to secure the 76-56 road victory.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- Delta State made 30 of their 56 shot attempts, finishing at 54 percent for the contest. The Statesmen added a 5-of-12 mark from three and an 11-of-16 mark at the free throw line.
- The Wolves went just 35 percent from the floor, knocking down 17-of-49 from the field. West Georgia made four of their 16 three point attempts( 25 percent) and went 18-of-24 (75 percent) from the free throw line.
- Delta State outscored UWG in the second half 39-24.
- The Statesmen edged the Wolves in rebounding 36-27, and outscored UWG 26-16 in the paint.
- DSU had 15 assists to UWG's eight.
- PJ Davis had 12 second-half points to finish with 18, and Brett Warner added 18 points as well.
- West Georiga was led by 16 points and five rebounds from Karlos Odum.
INSIDE THE FLOW:
- The Statesmen opened the game on an 11-4 run, helped by seven points from Brett Warner, in the game's first four minutes.
- DSU built a 25-15 lead at the 10:01 mark of the first half, but West Georgia outscored Delta State 17-12 over the second half of the opening period to cut the halftime lead down to five points, 37-32.
- The Green-and-White used a 12-5 run out of the locker room to push the lead to a dozen, 49-37, with 15:25 to go in the game.
- Delta State outscored the Wolves 27-19 the rest of the way, building the lead up to as much as 21 points with 2:22 left to play in the contest.
NOTABLES:
- Matthew Wilson went for a career-high 11 points and added two rebounds in 27 minutes.
- Mitch Keller scored a career-high nine points, and added 10 rebounds, one assists, one steal and two blocks.
- Delta State led for 37:58 of the game's 40 minutes.
- Armon Benford contributed 10 points, pulled down eight rebounds, dished out five assists, and had one steal.
- Bien Harbin Jr. scored the first two points of his DSU career on a slam dunk, and Cliff Fernandez grabbed a rebound in his first collegiate action on the hardwood.
- The game marked the second time DSU had four players in double-figures, and the ninth time that DSU had three or more players score double-digit points.
