CLEVELAND, Mississippi - Fresh off of a three-game win streak to close out the recent homestand, the Delta State University women's basketball team will travel to Union University on Thursday. Feb. 16 and then will return home for senior day against Christian Brothers University on Saturday, Feb. 18 at Walter Sillers Coliseum.

TIP-OFF NEWS AND NOTES
- Thursday's game marks the 13th meeting all-time between the Lady Statesmen and Union, with Delta State owning an 8-4 advantage. DSU, however, has gone just 2-2 at Fred DeLay Gymnasium. The Lady Statesmen and CBU will face off for the 46th time, with Delta State leading the all-time series 41-4.
- The Lady Statesmen are currently on a three-game win streak, their longest of the season, and put up their second-highest scoring average of any three-game stretch this year in wins over Mississippi College, Lee and Shorter. Delta State averaged 62.3 points per game, and had three or more players in double-figures in each game.
- Delta State has hung their hat on defense this season, particularly in the last six games. The Lady Statesmen sport a 4-2 record in that span and have held opponents to 51.8 points per game, including holding Valdosta State to 48 points and Mississippi College to 45 points.
- The Lady Statesmen have held the opposition to 55 points or less 14 times this season, including four times holding opponents to 48 points or less.
- Carly Keller is coming off of a huge game for the Lady Statesmen, playing a pivotal role in DSU's win over Shorter. Keller tallied 10 points, two rebounds, two assists and three steals, and had a key block and a key steal inside of a minute left in the game to help seal the win.
- Sophomore point guard Alondrea Rush has been the go-to sharpshooter for DSU this season. Rush has been the only Lady Statesmen player to knock down a three in 12 games this season, and leads the team with 52 three-pointers on 163 attempts. Rush is already 10th in school history in three-pointers attempted (251) with still four games left to play in her sophomore campaign. Rush is averaging 13.2 points per game, 2.8 rebounds, 3.1 assist and 2.1 steals.
- With four games left in the season in Gulf South Conference play, Delta State is squarely back in the hunt for a playoff spot. The Lady Statesmen are tied with Union and Mississippi College for the seventh spot with four games to go.
- Earlier this season, Delta State held Union to its lowest point total in a game since the 1973-74 season in a 51-41 win at Walter Sillers Coliseum. Union is led by Bria Gaines, who averages 15.1 points, 8.0 rebounds and 1.2 blocker per game. The last time the two teams played, Gaines scored 18 points, grabbed seven rebounds and registered six blocks in 27 minutes of action. DSU also held sophomore star Jada Smith scoreless in 35 minutes on the floor.
- The Lady Statesmen fell 53-50 when DSU visited Christian Brothers at Canale Arena earlier this season. The Lady Bucs are led by Samantha Reeves, who averages 17.9 points, 7.1 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game. Delta State held Reeves to just seven points on 3-of-13 shooting in their last matchup, while Courtney Banks shouldered the load for CBU with 21 points, four rebounds and two assists.
