CLEVELAND, Miss. - The Delta State University men's tennis team were defeated, 5-1, by Lee University on Sunday afternoon at the Cleveland Country Club.
The Flames grabbed an early 2-1 advantage in the doubles competition after Rhys Milne and Igor Schattan defeated
Timo Schmitz and
Andrew Hildenbrand, 8-6, on court No. 1. Then, in the second spot, Jake Okines and Boyd Blackburn defeated
Hicham Azzaoui and
Jeoffrey Noblecourt, 8-6. The only win for the Statesmen came on court. No. 3 after
Mason Vice and
Joao Yamacita defeated Danel Prata and Westley Lemke, 9-8 (7-2 tiebreaker).
Lee continued its momentum into double competition winning on three courts to claim a 5-1 victory over Delta State.
