VICKSBURG, Miss. - The Delta State University men's tennis team only earned one point in the 6-1 defeat by Division I opponent Alcorn State University, on Wednesday afternoon, at Halls Ferry Road Tennis Courts.
Alcorn State secured an early point in the doubles competition winning on the first and second court even though
Mason Vice and
Joao Yamacita defeated Ivan Matas and Suyash Gupta, 6-2, on court No. 3.
The Statesmen only claimed one win in singles competition in the second spot as
Jeoffrey Noblecourt defeated Suyash Gupta, 6-3, 6-2, but wasn't enough as the Braves secured the 6-1 victory.
The Statesmen continue on their road trip as they head to Pensacola to face a pair of tough Gulf South Conference opponents in No. 10 Valdosta State on Friday, March 31 at 9:00 a.m. and then No. 6 West Florida on Saturday, April 1 at 12 p.m.
