CLEVELAND, Miss. -- The Delta State University women's basketball team (5-9, 3-5 GSC) will look to snap a three-game losing skid when it hosts Montevallo and West Alabama in Gulf South Conference action. DSU is set to face Montevallo, for the first time since 2009, on Saturday, Jan. 13 and will do battle with long-time GSC rival West Alabama on Monday Jan. 15.

ABOUT DELTA STATE:
- LADY STATESMEN, MONTEVALLO MEET FOR 14TH TIME: The Lady Statesmen and Montevallo will face off for the 14th time in the history of the two programs, with Delta State leading the all-time series 12-1. The last meeting came in 2009, and saw DSU claim a 60-55 road victory. The Falcons, who recently rejoined the Gulf South Conference after a stint in the Peach Belt Conference, won their only meeting with DSU in 1997.
- The Lady Statesmen (5-9, 3-5) enter Saturday's contest with Montevallo having dropped four of their last five contests, including their last three. In their last game the Lady Statesmen had a late rally fall short, as West Florida earned a 54-50 victory on Tuesday, Jan. 9.
- Alondrea Rush leads DSU, averaging 14.3 points and 3.1 assists per game. The junior scored a career-high 25 points on Jan. 2 in a win over UAH. The Horn Lake, Miss., native ranks sixth in DSU history with 377 career three-point attempts and is seventh with 125 made three-pointers.
- Â The Lady Statesmen rank second in the GSC, allowing just 56 points per contest. DSU has given up over 60 points on just four occasions, and has allowed more than 63 just twice.
- Senior transfer Takisha Jordan has scored in double-figures in all but one game this season. The Decatur, Ala., native has been on a tear recently, averaging 15.8 points over her last five games. Jordan poured in a career-high 22 points on Jan. 2 in a win over Alabama Huntsville.
- DSU has held opponents to at least one quarter of 11 points or less in all but three of its games. The Lady Statesmen have held opponents to single digits in a quarter in eight of the last 12 games.
- Montevallo (2-13, 0-7 GSC) enters Saturday's contest coming off a 95-60 setback to Shorter on Jan. 9. The Falcons found themselves trailing Shorter 38-21 at the break.
- West Alabama (6-8, 3-4, GSC) heads into the weekend after falling 66-57 to Lee on Wednesday, Jan. 10.
