Statesmen Host Spring Hill, West Florida to Close 2018 Campaign

CLEVELAND, Miss. - The Delta State University men's soccer team closes out the regular season with a pair of home GSC matches. On Thursday October 25, the Statesmen welcome the top team in the GSC standing Spring Hill to Delta Field. Then on Saturday, October 27, the Statesmen will play host to West Florida and will honor three seniors for senior day.

  • The Statesmen lead the all time series against Spring Hill 5-4. Last year SHC won   6-1 in Mobile, but the last time the game was played in Cleveland, DSU won 2-1.
  • West Florida leads the all time series 13-3 beating the Statesmen 5-1 last season.

  • Spring Hill has scored 42 goals this season in 14 games.
  • The Badgers are undefeated in GSC play
  • Alexander Lipinski leads the way with 12 goals which is third in the GSC

  • Alessandro Erdelyi has given up nine goals in 11 games.

ABOUT WEST FLORIDA:
 
  • The Argos lead the conference with 46 goals in 14 games.
  • They have taken 253 shots so far this season.
  • Sean Hoffstatter leads UWF and the GSC with 16 goals. While Ed Chappe sits fifth in the conference with eight.
  • The only loss in conference play was to Spring Hill.
