CLEVELAND, Miss. – Takisha Jordan dropped a career-high 29 points and
Raven Johnson posted career bests with 13 points and 16 rebounds as the Delta State University women's basketball team #BEATmc 67-53 on Thursday night in Gulf South Conference action at Walter Sillers Coliseum in the 2017-18 regular season finale.

TURNING POINT:
- Takisha Jordan scored 16 second half points and Raven Johnson had six offensive rebounds in the second half as the Lady Statesmen outpaced MC 38-30 in quarter three and four to take the 67-63 win.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- Jordan dropped 29, and Johnson added 13 points and 16 rebounds to lead the way for the Lady Statesmen.
- Emory Wilson (16), Lauran Sheriff (12), Zan Ratcliffe (10) led the way for Mississippi College.
- The Lady Statesmen went 24-for-64 (38 percent) from the floor, but were just 3-for-16 (18 percent) from three-point territory. DSU was 16-for-27 (59 percent) from the free throw line.
- MC was 20-for-47 (43 percent) from the field but were just 2-for-12 from three-point land. The Lady Choctaws went 11-for-14 (79 percent) from the free throw line.
- DSU out-rebounded MC 38-36, including 18-9 on the offensive glass.
- The 18 offensive rebounds were a season-high for the Lady Statesmen.
- DSU also edged MC 32-28 in the paint, and had 18 second chance points to just six for MC.
- The Lady Statesmen outscored MC 10-2 in fast break points as well.
INSIDE THE FLOW:
- Both teams played a close first quarter, as neither team led by more than two points. Jordan scored eight of DSU's first 10 points in the quarter, as both teams were knotted up at 10-10 after the opening quarter.
- MC exploded on an 11-2 to open the second quarter, getting a pair of three-pointers by Ratliffe as the Lady Choctaws built a 21-14 lead with 5:59 to go before halftime.
- The Lady Statesmen settled in and locked down MC the rest of the way, holding the Lady Choctaws to two points in the final six minutes before the half.
- DSU was helped by a pair of Jordan layups and five points from Johnson as part of a 15-2 run to take a 29-23 lead at the intermission.
- A Maddy Sheraka three-pointer capped an 8-4 run out of the locker room as DSU took a 37-27 lead with 7:48 to play in the third quarter.
- The Lady Choctaws edge DSU 10-9 over the rest of the third, but the Green-and-White took a 46-37 lead to the final stanza.
- Delta State's offense erupted for 21 points in the fourth quarter, including 10 in the quarter from Jordan, as the Lady Statesmen pulled past the Lady Choctaws 67-53.

- Jordan scored in a career-high 29 points. She added four rebounds, four assists and four steals.
- Johnson also had a career night, posting a 13 point, 16 rebound double-double, her first of the season.
- Alexis Ross added two points, six rebounds for the Lady Statesmen on senior night.
