CARROLLTON, Ga. – Price Peters walk-off RBI double capped a three-run ninth inning to help No. 20 West Georgia (14-5, 4-4 GSC) rally for a 10-9 win over No. 1/2 Delta State University (16-2, 8-1 GSC) on Saturday at Cole Field.
The Statesmen held an 8-0 lead after two innings only to see the Wolves score 10 of the game's next 11 runs.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Zack Shannon notched his third home run of the series after Brian Lane walked to put the Statesmen out in front 2-0.
- Delta State added to the lead in the second inning, scoring six runs with two outs to build the lead to 8-0. Ellis and Lane singled in the first two runs and Clay Casey went deep to center field with the bases loaded.
- The Wolves got a run in the bottom of the second. Price Peters singled and scored on a Brady Barnes ground to cut the deficit to 8-1.
- West Georgia cut the lead in half, 8-4, with a three-run third inning. Brian Dansereau and Hunter Stubbs drove in runs with doubles and Peters had an RBI single.
- Cade Marlow singled and scored on a Logan Taylor triple and Garbriel Wurtz singled in Taylor to shrink the deficit to 8-6.
- Cade Marlow tripled with one out and scored on a Taylor sac-fly to make it a one-run game, 8-7.
- Jason Popovich extended the Statesmen lead to 9-7 on a leadoff solo home run in the top of the ninth.
- Dansereau singled to left and scored on a Peters home run to left center to tie the game, 9-9. Barnes reached on an infield single and scored on a Michals double to give UWG the 10-9 win.
ON THE MOUND
- Hunter Riggins (0-1) suffered the loss for DSU allowing three runs on two hits in the ninth.
- Andres Fernandez gave up two runs on five hits with six strikeouts in 7.1 innings to pick up the win in relief of starter Ryan Parker.

- Shannon's two-run home run was his 32nd career home run and is now four home runs shy of tying Barry Lyons (1979-82) for fourth.
