DELTA STATE TRAVELS TO HARDING FOR NON-CONFERENCE MATCHUP:

- DSU is scheduled to travel to Searcy, Ark., to face No. 10 Harding University for a non-conference doubleheader. The Lady Bisons are fresh off the heels of a 2-2 series split with Henderson State, while the Lady Statesmen dropped two-of-three to Auburn Montgomery.
THE FIRST PITCH - TOP STORYLINES THIS WEEK:
- The Lady Statesmen and Harding have not met since 2015, when DSU swept a doubleheader in Searcy.
- LSU-Alexandria transfer Kaitlyn Eaves leads the Lady Statesmen with a .289 batting average. She also ranks fourth on the team with a .357 on base percentage. Eaves has struck out just two times in 38 at-bats.
- Freshman Mallory Myers ranks second on the team with a .288 batting average. Myers leads DSU with 19 hits, and her .360 on base percentage is also second on the team. The South Panola High School product has at least one hit in all but five games.
- Nicole Fullilove helped lead the Lady Statesmen to a 1-0 victory over Auburn Montgomery, on Saturday, March 3. Fullilove allowed just two hits, while striking out eight batters. Her eight strikeouts are the most by a DSU pitcher since April 2, 2017.
- The Lady Statesmen pitching staff ranks fourth in the GSC with a 2.35 ERA. Opponents are batting .246 against DSU, which is third best in the league.
- Junior Kelly Byrd has been a major contributor in the middle of the DSU lineup. The Jones JC transfer is tied for the GSC lead with eight hit by pitch, is tied for second in the league with two triples, tied for fourth in home runs (4), fifth in RBIs (17).
