CLINTON, Miss. – The Delta State men's tennis team rallied back to defeat Gulf South Conference rival Mississippi College, 5-4, on Wednesday, March 7, 2018, in Clinton, Miss.

Timo Schmitz earned the first match point of the contest with a victory at No. 3 doubles, the Choctaws clinched wins at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles to take a 2-1 lead.
Strickland leveled the score when he won at No. 4 singles. The Statesmen took the lead when Le Terrier and Yamacita won, but a loss at No. 2 singles tied the match, 4-4. The No. 6 singles match was the deciding match point. At No. 6 singles,
Andrew Hildenbrand clinched the match win for the Statesmen with a 6-3, 6-4 victory over Petar Damjanovic.

- Since the Choctaws and Statesmen renewed their rivalry in 2015, Delta State has won two of the past four contests.
- Delta State's four GSC wins mark the most conference victories in a season since 2014 when the Statesmen finished 5-3 in GSC play.
