CLEVELAND, Miss. -- The Delta State University softball team is scheduled to return to action on Friday, April 20 when it travels to No. 4 North Alabama for a three-game Gulf South Conference series. The teams are scheduled to play a single game on Friday at 4 p.m. CT and a doubleheader on Saturday at 2 p.m. The series was originally scheduled for Saturday-Sunday, but was moved due to the threat of inclement weather.

THE FIRST PITCH - TOP STORYLINES THIS WEEK
- The Lady Statesmen are scheduled to travel to Florence, Ala., for a three-game Gulf South Conference series at No. 5 North Alabama. This will be the last regular season meeting between the two long-time rivals, as UNA is set to make the jump to NCAA Division I next season. DSU is coming off a series victory over Lee, while UNA has won its last 14 games.
- Over the last 10 games, Jordan Jones has led the Lady Statesmen with a .483 (14-for-29) batting average with six doubles, a home run, 11 RBIs and 10 runs. She has also walked six times and stolen 11 bases. In the 4-3 victory over Lee (4.15), Jones delivered a game-tying single with two strikes and two outs. For the season, the Crystal Springs, Miss., native ranks second on the team with a .340 batting average with 11 doubles, two triples, three home runs and 24 RBIs. Her 11 doubles are tied for first on the team and sixth in the GSC.
- In her last five appearances, Nicole Fullilove is 4-1 with a 1.91 ERA. The Batesville, Miss., native has allowed eight earned runs in 29.1 innings with 11 walks and 22 strikeouts. All three of her starts have resulted in complete games. In the 7-2 win over Lee (4.15), Fullilove tied her career high with eight strikeouts.
- The Lady Statesmen have lost just three games when holding a lead after the first two innings. DSU is 11-3 when leading after the first and second innings, and 14-1 when it is ahead after the fourth-sixth frames. •DSU has outscored its opponents 47-17 in the fifth inning. The Lady Statesmen also hold a commanding 34-18 edge in the second inning and a 19-14 advantage in the seventh frame.
- The Lady Statesmen are 8-8 on the road this season. The eight victories are one more than DSU had on the road last season.

- No. 4 UNA (37-4, 24-2) has won its last 14 contests, and has not allowed a run in the previous four. The Lions did not allow a run in a three-game sweep of Christian Brothers, while winning the series by a combined score of 30-0
