CLEVELAND, Miss. - After wrapping up a five-game road swing to start the season, the Delta State University men's soccer finally has a home matchup against Mississippi College. The home opener is slated for Friday, September 21, at 4 p.m. The Statesmen then travel to Ouachita Baptist to take on the Tigers in non-conference action on Monday, September 24 at 2 p.m. This is a rescheduled match from that was washed out by Hurricane Gordon a couple of weeks ago.

INSIDE THE SERIES:
- Mississippi College leads the all-time series with the Statesmen, 6-4, collecting a 2-1 win over the Green-and-White last season.
- DSU carries a 6-10 record all-time against Ouachita Baptist, but won their last matchup against the Tigers 2-1 last season.

- Mississippi College is 3-2 on the season and 1-1 in GSC play
- The Choctaws have played the same schedule as Delta State. They have wins over Nova Southeastern, Ouachita Baptist, and West Alabama and they have lost to Barry and UAH. Their game against Harding was rescheduled.
- Victor Bazan and Connor Johnson lead MC with three goals apiece.
- Goal Keeper Keaton Halbert has 19 saves on the season.
- Last season the Choctaws lost to UAH in the conference semi-finals.
ABOUT OUACHITA BAPTIST:
- Back on September 7th, the Statesmen and the Tigers played the first 45 minutes to a scoreless tie before rain and lightning washed the rest of the game.
- Ouachita Baptist is currently 2-2-1. Their conference opener is this weekend against Southern Nazarene University.
- Three OBU Tigers have scored this season with junior Abraham Lazo leading the way with five total shots and two goals.
- Last season the Tigers went 9-7-1 going 2-0 in the Great American Conference tournament
- For the second time in three years the Ouachita Baptist men's soccer team has been picked to be the Great American Conference favorite; this is the first time that the men's soccer program has been picked as the outright favorite in the GAC.
