PENSACOLA, Fla. – Austin Reed threw four touchdown passes to lead the University of West Florida (3-1, 2-0 GSC) to a 48-3 win over Delta State University (3-2, 2-1 GSC) on Saturday at Blue Wahoos Stadium.
The Statesmen only score came on a 25-yard fieldgoal by
Taylor Crabtree, who has made his last eight attempts since game two versus Grand Valley State.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Demetri Burch caught a 32-yard pass from Reed to give the Argos a quick 7-0 lead at on the opening possession of the game.
- The Statesmen lone threat of the first quarter came up short when Robbie Evans was stopped on 4th and 1 from the UWF 10 with 3:04 mark left.
- West Florida added 14 points in the final 5:04 of the second quarter to take a 21-0 lead at the half.
- Anthony Johnson scored on a nine-yard run at the 5:04 mark followed by a Reed 47-yard scoring strike to Rodney Coates with 16 seconds remaining.
- Reed found Ka'Ron Ashley for a 34-yard touchdown pass and then hooked up with Burch for another 34-yard scoring strike to give the Argos a 35-0 lead with 2:13 left at the end of third quarter.
- Shomari Rush raced into the end zone from 31 yards out to give UWF a 41-0 after the extra-point missed wide right to open the fourth quarter scoring.
- Taylor Crabtree got the Statesmen on the board with a 25-yard field goal to make the score 41-3 7:53 left in the fourth quarter.
- A Shomari Mason 57-yard run gave UWF a 48-3 lead with 6:56 remaining in the final quarter.
OFFENSIVE NOTEABLES:
- Breck Ruddick completed 18-of-26 passes for 106 yards and rushed 12 times for 48 yards.
- L.J. Hawkins caught a career-high seven passes for 52 yards.
- Rico Owens had eight carries for 30 yards for the Statesmen rushing attack.
- UWF's Reed finished the game completing 15-of-24 passes for 262 yard and four touchdowns.
- Mason led the Argos rushing attack with 101 yards on four attempts including a 57-yard TD run.
- Tate Lehtio had seven receptions for 79 yards while Burch finished with two grabs for 66 yards a pair of touchdowns.
- The Statesmen were limited to 217 total yards, 105 passing and 112, all season-lows.
- Delta State was 1-for-2 in the red zone and were 3-for-15 on third down and 0-for-4
DEFENSIVE NOTEABLES:
- Dante Williams led the Statesmen defense with eight tackles, seven solo stops, and one tackle for a loss of three yards.
- Vada King followed Dante Williams with six tackles, including five solos.
- Tim Williams and Khalil Johnson combined for the Statesmen's lone sack on the night.
- The Statesmen yielded 439 yards offense including a season high 177-yards on the ground and 262 yard through the air.
- Gaie Laurent posted eight tackles and 1.5 tackles for loss followed by Sharod Oliver with seven tackles, three solos, for the UWF defense.

- Sam Barge punted five times for 43.0 yards per punt, including one punt inside the 20 and a long of 50 yards.
- Trey Roberson returned three kickoffs for 67 yards (22.3 per return) with a long return of 31 yards.
