FAIRFIELD, Ala. –
Quantesha Patterson's second double-double of the season led the Delta State University Women's Basketball team (3-0) to a 70-43 win over Lane College (0-2) in the Lady Bears Tipoff Classic on Friday.
Patterson scored 21 points and grabbed a game-high 11 rebounds for her second straight double-double and the eighth of her career.
Lady Statesmen scored 40 points off 36 Lady Dragon turnovers which are the most turnovers forced since Arkansas Baptist 36 turnovers on Dec. 6, 2004.
Lane College led 19-14 after the opening quarter before the Lady Statesmen outscored the Lady Dragons 56-24 over the next three quarters.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Lane stretched a narrow 8-6 into a 15-8 advantage with a 7-2 run with 2:45 to go in the first quarter.
- The Lady Statesmen cut the deficit down to 15-12 on two Quantesha Patterson free throws with 45 seconds remaining in the first quarter.
- Lane shot 61 percent in the first quarter holding a 19-14 lead on a Ra'Keta Shelton's layup at the ahead of the quarter buzzer.
- Delta State started the second quarter with a 7-0 run to take a 21-19 lead a Kirstin Brown basket under two minutes into the stanza.
- The overall run was 17-4 as the Lady Statesmen grabbed a 31-23 after a Patterson layup with 4:18 left before halftime.
- The lead was cut down to 31-28 on a Chasity Moore layup at the 3:12 mark.
- Delta State closed the first half on a 9-0 run to take a 40-28 lead into intermission.
- Two Zyaire Ewing free throws on the end of 6-0 run pushed the Lady Statesmen lead to 46-30 with 6:53 left in the third quarter.
- T'Kyra Hicks hit a jump shot with 4:34 to go in the third to make the scored 48-34.
- The Lead grew to 536-3 following a Shanyiah Buford jumper and three free throws by Patterson with 1:23 to go in the third.
- Jump shots by Ewing and Buford gave the Lady Statesmen a 57-38 lead heading into the final quarter.
- Delta State opened the fourth quarter on a 9-2 highlighted by 3-point baskets from Buford and Hicks to build the lead to 66-40 on the way to the 70-43 win.
TURNING POINT
- Trailing 19-14, Delta State opened the second quarter on a 17-4 run to take a 31-23 lead on the way to a 40-28 halftime advantage.
- The Lady Statesmen outscored the Lady Dragons 26-9 in the second quarter.

- The Lady Statesmen forced 36 Lane College turnovers, the most since forcing 36 Arkansas Baptist turnovers on Dec. 6, 2004 and 35 Henderson State turnovers on Feb. 27, 2010
