MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Delta State University men's basketball team won their second straight game on Saturday afternoon defeating Lemoyne-Owen College 85-77. It is the second straight win for the Statesmen to improve their record to 2-2 on the season. It was the first loss of the season for the Magicians as they are now 2-1. The game marks the 13th meeting between the schools and the first since 2016, an 89-61 Statesmen win. DSU leads the series 8-5.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Delta State started out fast hitting back to back three point shots from Brooks and Keyshaun Street.
- A three pointer from Brooks and Anderson McCoy made the score 25-13 halfway through the first half and forced a timeout from Lemoyne-Owen.
- DSU started pushing through drives in the paint as Austin Laatsch, Cameron Burkett, and Michael Motley all had layups.
- Keyshaun Street hit a three point shot right before the halftime buzzer to make it 52-37 at the half.
- In the second half, LOC started to cut into the lead thanks to free throws as they were 10-18 from charity.
- Every time the Magicians started to close the gap, Street had a jumper or a layup to answer for the Green and White.
- Lemoyne-Owen managed to cut it down to 82-77 with 30 seconds left but DSU hit their free throws to preserve the win
TURNING POINT
- Over the last two minutes of the first half, DSU went on a 9-4 run to push the Statesmen nout by 15 and they never looked back.
