Patterson Earns Second @GulfSouth POTW Honor

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Delta State University women's basketball forward Quantesha Patterson was named the Gulf South Conference Player of the Week on Tuesday, December 10, 2019.
 
The Maben, Miss., native led the Lady Statesmen to a 2-0 week that included region wins over LeMoyne Owen College and Miles College. Patterson averaged 15.5 points and 14.5 rebounds per game while shooting 77 percent from the floor (10-of-13).  She recorded double-doubles in both games scoring 18 points with 16 rebounds against LOC and 13 points and 13 boards against Miles.
 
Patterson has wiped the glass with double-digit rebounds in all eight games, leading the GSC in rebounds per game (14.4) rebounds (115) and offensive boards (56). Patterson, who has six double-doubles in eight games, also leads the league in field goal percentage (69.7) and is 12th in the GSC in scoring (14.9 ppg.).
 
The Lady Statesmen have this week off for final exams before returning to the hardwood to host Arkansas-Monticello on Wed., Dec. 18 at noon at Walter Sillers Coliseum.
