CLEVELAND, Miss. - The Delta State University men's and women's tennis team host two Gulf South Conference opponents this Saturday and Sunday, March 23-24, as the Statesmen (6-2, 2-1) and Lady Statesmen (2-10, 1-2) host Lee University and in-state rivals Mississippi College at Cleveland Country Club. Match time is set for 11 a.m. Saturday and 12 p.m. Sunday. Admission is free and everyone is invited to attend.
With the Statesmen coming off a hard-fought 4-3 loss over the Tigers on Saturday, the weekend opponents will serve as a valuable gauge as the team moves deeper into the season. Lee enters the match (10-3,1-2) after defeating Tennessee Wesleyan University (5-2) and Shorter University (7-0). The Choctaws of Mississippi College enters the match (4-7,2-1) after defeating Dallas Baptist University (7-0) and dropping a match against Alcorn (1-4).
The Statesmen are looking to bounce back after a hard-fought loss to West Alabama.

Leo De Sousa claimed singles wins for the Statesmen versus the Tigers. Along with the #32 ranked team of

Trey Seymour claimed DSU's No.1 doubles win with
Timo Schmitz and
Leo De Sousa claiming DSU's No. 3 doubles.
The Lady Statesmen will be looking to rebound from a hard 7-0 loss to Arkansas Tech against Lee and Mississippi College. The Lady Flames are (10-3,1-2) on the season with wins versus Tennessee Wesleyan University (6-1) and Shorter University (7-0). The Lady Choctaws of Mississippi College enters the match (4-7,2-1) after defeating Dallas Baptist University (6-1) and Alcorn (4-3).
Fabiola Cardenas and
Nathalia Sato turned in a 7-6 doubles victory for the Lady Statesmen on Sunday versus Arkansas Tech.
After this weekend matches, Statesmen and Lady Statesmen will travel to Columbus, Miss to take on the Owls of the University for Women. Match time is set for 11 a.m.
