CLEVELAND, Miss. - The Delta State University men's and women's tennis team host Gulf South Conference opponent Auburn University of Montgomery on senior day on April 7. The Statesmen (9-3, 3-2) and Lady Statesmen (4-12, 1-4) will play at the Cleveland Country Club. Match time is set for 10 a.m. Sunday with senior day starting at 9:45 a.m. After Sunday's matches the Statesmen and Lady Statesmen finish the season on the road. Admission is free and everyone is invited to attend.
With the Statesmen coming off a two-match win streak, the weekend opponent will serve as a valuable gauge as the team moves deeper into the end of the season. The Warhawks of Auburn Montgomery enters the match (8-5,3-1) after defeating Mississippi College (6-1) and beating Shorter (7-0).
The Statesmen are looking keep going forward after a huge win against Blue Mountain College. Emile le Terrier won DSU's No.1 singles with a 6-0, 6-1 victory over Juan Silva.
Hugo Stroppiana claimed DSU's No.2 singles with a 6-2, 6-1 victory over David Garcia.
Trey Seymour earned a victory at DSU's No.3 singles with a 6-0, 6-0 victory over John Jimenez.
Timo Schmitz claimed DSU's No.4 singles with a 6-2, 6-0 victory over Zak Harbin.
Breno Goncalves won DSU's No.6 singles with a 6-0, 6-1 victory over Eduardo Chagas.
Giuliano Annetta closed out singles for DSU with a 6-1, 6-0 victory over Zaen Harbin. Schmitz and Sousa claimed No. 1 doubles with an 8-2 victory over Silva and Jimenez. Vice and Santucci decided DSU's No.2 doubles with an 8-2 victory over Harbin and Chagas. Seymour and Santucci claimed DSU's No.3 doubles with an 8-1 victory over Garcia and Harbin.
The Lady Statesmen will be looking to extend their two-game win streak as they host the Warhawks. AUM is (5-10,3-2) on the season with a loss to Mississippi College (3-4) and a win against Shorter (7-0).

Nathalia Stelzer claimed DSU's No.4 singles with a 6-1, 6-0 victory over Mattie Mills.
Beth Owen won DSU's No.5 singles with a 6-0, 6-1 victory over Emily Standard.
Sophie St. Amant swept DSU's No.6 singles with a 6-0, 6-0 victory over Sarah Hill. Cardena and Sato claimed No. 1 doubles with an 8-2 victory over Alvarez and Quinonez. Owen and Stelzer claimed DSU's No.2 doubles with an 8-1 victory over Johnson and Standard. St. Amant and Perez claimed DSU's No.3 doubles with an 8-6 victory over Finley and Mills.
After Sunday match, Statesmen and Lady Statesmen will travel to Pensacola, Fla. on April 12 to take on the Argos of the University of West Florida and the Lady Statesmen will also have a match with University of West Georgia. Match time is set for 12 p.m. and 3 p.m.
