CLEVELAND, Miss. – Despite double-doubles from Zyaire Ewing and Quantesha Patterson the Delta State University women's basketball team fell to Alabama Huntsville, 68-67 on Thursday at Walter Sillers Coliseum.

HOW IT HAPPENED

•  The Lady Chargers took an early 5-0 lead with 8:17 left in the first period.
• A 6-0 run gave Delta State the lead, 6-5 with 6:29 remaining in the period.
• The Lady Chargers took back the lead, 10-6 after a 3-poitner from Selena Pruitt with 5:35 left in the first period.
• At the 5:03 media timeout the Lady Chargers led 10-9.
• The Lady Statemen took the lead 11-10 after a pair of free throws from Nia Johnson with 4:33 remaining in the period.
• With 1:23 remaining in the first period, the Lady Statemen led by five, 18-13.
• At the end of the first period, Delta State led by four, 20-16. The Lady Statesmen ended the period shooting 57 percent from the field.
• Delta State led 25-16 with 8:17 left in the second period.
• A layup from Pruitt cut DSU's lead to just three, 26-23, with 6:20 left in the half.
• DSU went on a 6-0 run to take an eight-point lead, 34-26 with 4:15 remaining in the half.
• Alabama Huntsville ended the half on an 8-0 run to cut DSU's lead 35-34 at halftime.
• The Lady Statesmen were led by Patterson who scored 14 in the first half, while Holly Harris led UAH with nine points.
• The Lady Chargers took a 39-38 with 8:29 left in the third period.
• At the 6:29 media timeout, the Lady Chargers led by five, 45-40.
• UAH still led by five, 46-41, at the 4:59 media timeout.
• The Lady Statesmen tied the game 46-46 after a steal and layup by Patterson with 3:28 left in the third.
• A buzzer beater layup from Patterson tied the game 51-51 to end the third period.
• Thanks to a 3-point play from Zyaire Ewing the Lady Statesmen took a 57-54 lead with 7:09 remaining in the period.
• UAH tied the game 58-58 with 4:48 left on the cock.
• At the 3:35 media timeout, the Lady Statesmen led UAH 62-60.
• With 2:10 on the clock UAH took a one-point lead, 63-63.
• The Lady Chargers led by two, 64-62 with :51 remaining in the game.
• DSU took a timeout with 12 seconds remaining. The Lady Chargers led by four,68-64.
• The Lady Chargers went on to win 68-67.
