CLEVELAND, Miss. - Delta State University women's basketball coach
Craig Roden has announced the signing of Chrystal Mayes.
"Chrystal is a player that we think is going to be a great fit into our program and our incoming class," Roden said.
Mayes, a 6-foot-1 power forward and Batesville, Miss., native, is a standout at South Panola High School. Mayes competed in basketball and track and field and won multiple rebound awards on the basketball court. Mayes is also a National Honor Society member, won the English award in the classroom, and played in the North-South All-Star game.
Mayes averaged 15.0 points per game, 8.0 rebounds per game, 5.0 assists per game, and 3.0 blocks per game.
"She is a player that has an unlimited future," Roden said. "She is a big, fast, strong basketball player, and we see her best years of basketball ahead of her as a a member of our program."
