CLEVELAND, Miss. -- Delta State University athletics has announced the radio broadcast schedule for the upcoming men's and women's basketball seasons that begin on Friday, Dec. 11 and Saturday, Dec. 12, respectively.
This season, every game of both the women's slate and the men's slate will be carried on the Radio Cleveland family of stations. Each regular season Delta State women's basketball game will air on Rejoice 1490 AM/96.5 FM in Bolivar, Coahoma, and Sunflower counties, with Assistant Coordinator of Media Relations
Philip Tang calling the play-by-play.
Delta State men's basketball regular season contests will air live on WMJW Majic 107.5 FM in Bolivar, Coahoma, and Sunflower counties, with the Voice of the Statesmen,
Cody Clark, providing the play-by-play action.
"We are thrilled to announce that each of our basketball games, on the women's side and men's side, will be able to be heard live on the radio," said Media Relations Coordinator
Cody Clark. "This year's COVID-19 pandemic shook things up in terms of being a split schedule, but we are thankful for our on-going relationship with Kevin Cox and Radio Cleveland and his willingness to help us find a way for Statesmen and Lady Statesmen fans to hear all the action all season."
Each game broadcast will go live 15 minutes prior to the scheduled tip-off time with the Statewide Federal Credit Union Statesman Game Day Report.
"Fans will be able to get every Delta State basketball game on the radio dial this season, but we will also still have live audio and video coverage available online at GoStatesmen.com for our fans that do not live in the immediate listening area," Clark said.
The Statesmen are set to open the season on Friday, Dec. 11 at 6:30 p.m. against the University of West Alabama at Walter Sillers Coliseum. The Statesmen will then play the Tigers on Saturday, Dec. 12 at 2:30 p.m. at Sillers. The Lady Statesmen open their campaign on Saturday, Dec. 12 at 6:30 p.m. in Livingston, Ala., against the University of West Alabama. The Lady Statesmen and Tigers then play on Sunday, Dec. 13 at 3 p.m. in Livingston.
