BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- Delta State University men's tennis player Côme Bracaval was named Gulf South Conference Freshmen of the Week for the second consecutive week.
Bracaval secured back-to-back honors after helping the Statesmen take down the University of Southern Mississippi 4-3 in Hattiesburg, Miss. The Toulouse, France native partnered with Leo De Sousa to take down Matthieu Peres and Vence N'Tcha (USM) 6-4 to help Delta State secure the doubles point.
In his singles match, Bracaval beat Southern Miss's Emilio Bowen 6-2, 6-4 to earn another point for the Statesmen and help DSU take down the Golden Eagles.
Bracaval remains undefeated on the year, moving to 8-0 in singles and doubles action in his first season in a DSU uniform.
The Green-and-White travel to the capital to face Jackson State University in Jackson, Miss. The Statesmen and Tigers play at 2 p.m. on Saturday, February 15.
