CLEVELAND, Miss. -- Blake Wolferding's delivered an RBI single in the bottom of the ninth inning to propel No. 11 Delta State University baseball (3-1) to a 7-6 win over Lynn University (2-1-1) on Friday at Harvey Stadium - Ferriss Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Lynn scored a run in the second and third innings to build a 2-0 lead. Trent Sinkfield walked and scored on a wild pitch in the second and Byron Murray doubled and scored on a Trent Romeo ground out in the third.
- The Statesmen tied the game with two runs in the third. Darek Sargent walked and Chad Ragland singled to start the inning and later scored on a fielding error by the Lynn shortstop.
- The Knights took a 4-2 lead in the fifth on an RBI single by Romeo and a run scoring double by Luis Beltran.
- With Ragland aboard, Jake Barlow tied the game 4-4 with a two-run home run.
- Myles Christian and Hayden White then hit back-to-back home runs in the eighth to put the Statesmen ahead 6-4.
- Lynn scored two in the top of the ninth to tie the game 6-6. A run scored on a wild pitched and Beltran doubled home Liam O'Regan to tie the game.
- CJ Estave led off the bottom of the ninth with a single and was lifted pinch runner Will Myers. Myers moved to second on a Pratt sacrifice bunt before scoring on a Wolferding's single to left.
ON THE MOUND
- Statesmen starter Hunter Riggins gave up four runs on five hits with three strikeouts.
- Kris Peet tossed 2.1 scoreless innings with four strikeouts and no hits allowed.
- Tanner Propst (1-0) pick up the win in relief, tossing 1.0 inning with two runs on one hit.
- Kendrick Pico (0-1) suffered the loss after yielding three runs on five hits in 1.1 innings.
NOTABLES
- Ragland finished 4-for-5 and Barlow was 2-for-5 with two RBI as the only Statesmen with multiple hits.
- Barlow, Christian and White had home runs for the Statesmen. Christian's home run was the his first as a Statesmen.
