CLEVELAND, Miss. -- The Delta State University women's basketball team outscored Christian Brothers 31-10 in the fourth quarter as the Lady Statesmen earned an 83-61 win to complete the weekend sweep over CBU.
Shaniyah Buford tied her career-high with 23 points, and
Zyaire Ewing achieved her eighth straight double-double as she registered 14 points and 16 rebounds.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Delta State scored the first seven points of the contest after a bucket and three-pointer from Shaniyah Buford.
- The Lady Statesmen continued to hold the lead throughout the first quarter despite a late ten-point run by the Lady Bucs.
- Camryn Davis drained a jumper with three seconds left as DSU led 20-16 after the first period.
- Buford added a layup with 5:06 left on the clock to push the Lady Statesmen lead to 24-20.
- CBU made a late push at the end of the half, but Alanna Smith hit a jumper that kept the Lady Statesmen in the lead 30-28.
- Zyaire Ewing went 3-for-3 for Delta State in the opening stages of the third quarter.
- Christian Brothers took a lead for the first time of the contest at the 5:25 mark of the third quarter as the two teams continued to go back and forth.
- After CBU snuck back in front, T'Kyra Hicks added a buzzer-beater three-pointer to steal the lead back 52-51 at the end of the third quarter.
- A 14-0 run for the Lady Statesmen in the opening minutes of the fourth quarter ultimately buried the Lady Bucs.
