Lady Statesmen Use Strong Fourth Quarter to Push Past CBU

Stackhouse and Hill Post Career Highs in the Win

CLEVELAND, Miss. -- The Delta State University women's basketball team used a 27-point fourth quarter to pull away and defeat Christian Brothers University 82-67 on Saturday afternoon. The win marked the sixth straight victory for the Lady Statesmen.
 
Ke'Vonshaye Stackhouse and MaKenzie Hill both had career highs in points with 23 and 14, respectively. The six-game winning streak is the longest such streak since the 2019-20 season where DSU won eight straight.

STATS OF THE GAME:
  • Delta State led 49-47 with 1:50 left in the third quarter and outscored CBU on a 16-2 run at the end of the third quarter and the beginning of the fourth quarter to pull away.
  • DSU was 31-for-60 from the field while CBU was 23-for-57.
  • CBU shot only 3-for-25 from beyond the arc.
  • The Lady Statesmen had four players score in double figures.
  • This was the most points DSU scored in a game this season.
  • The Lady Statesmen scored 42 points in the paint, which was the most in a single game this season.
  • Half of CBU's points came off of the bench.
  • In the fourth quarter, DSU hit nine of their last 11 field goal attempts.
  • Hill had 11 of her 14 points in the second half, while Camryn Davis had all eight of her points in the second half.
