CLEVELAND, Miss. -- Delta State University student-athletes Kelen Dietrich and Ke'Vonshaye Stackhouse were named the Guaranty Bank Featured Student-Athletes of the Week after their performances this past weekend on court for the Statesmen and Lady Statesmen basketball teams. 

Dietrich, a guard for the Delta State men's basketball team, averaged 15.0 points and 3.5 rebounds this past weekend as the Statesmen swept the University of Alabama in Huntsville and the University of West Alabama.

Dietrich tallied 19 points and hit five three-pointers against UAH in an 84-83 overtime win for the Statesmen. Dietrich logged 37 minutes in that game and also added two rebounds and one assist. He followed it up with 11 points against UWA. Dietrich hit two three-pointers and scored 10 of his 11 points in the second half to help Delta State erase a 12-point halftime deficit and push the Statesmen to 2-0 in Gulf South Conference play. 

Stackhouse takes home Guaranty Bank Featured Student-Athlete of the Week honors after hitting a pair of game-winning shots to help the Lady Statesmen also open 2-0 in GSC play. 

The West Helena, Ark. native averaged 16.0 points, 6.5 rebounds, 5.0 assists, and 1.0 block in wins over UAH and UWA. She nailed a free-throw line jump shot with less than two seconds to play in regulation to deliver a DSU win over Alabama-Huntsville.

Stackhouse then added a short jumper in the paint with roughly three seconds left in the game on Saturday to help seal a 78-76 overtime win over West Alabama. In that contest, she poured in 16 points, six rebounds, and seven assists. 

The Statesmen and Lady Statesmen are back in action on Sunday, Dec. 12 at 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. in Montgomery, Ala. against the University of Auburn at Montgomery.
