CLEVELAND, Miss. -- The Delta State University baseball team earned its 34th bid into NCAA Division II Baseball Tournament in school history when the 48-team field was revealed during the NCAA selection show on Sunday, May 23.

The NCAA South Region tournament takes place on May 27-30 and will be hosted by the University of West Florida at Jim Spooner Field in Pensacola, Fla.

The Statesmen earned the fourth seed and play third-seeded University of Tampa in the tournament opener on Thursday, May 27 at 11 a.m. No. 2 seed Lee University plays No. 5 seed the University of Alabama Huntsville at 3 p.m., followed by No. 1 seed and host West Florida against No. 6 seed Shorter University.

Games continue Friday and Saturday at 11:00 a.m., 3:00 p.m. and 7 p.m., respectively, with Sunday's championship round set for noon. The if necessary game would start 30 minutes after the conclusion of game 10.

The eight regional winners advance to the Division II Baseball Championship on June 5-12 at the USA Baseball National Training Complex in Cary, N.C.
