CARROLLTON,,Ga. -- The Delta State University women's basketball team dropped its second Gulf South Conference game of the season with a 74-60 loss to the University of West Georgia.
The Lady Statesmen cut two larger deficits down but could never take the lead. The Wolves, who average 60.5 percent from the free throw line for the season, were 23-for-24 from charity in the game.
Sierra Carter had 26 points for UWG, while
T'Kyra Hicks had 18 points and
Moriah Hurst had 18 points and nine rebounds.

- DSU was 23-of-75 from the field for 30.7 percent
- They were also 7-for-28 from three pointers for 25 percent shooting.
- UWG was 23-24 from the free throw line while DSU was 7-for-8.
- DSU trailed by as many as 17 in the first half before cutting it down to 32-30 at the halftime break.
- DSU tied it at 34 before UWG hit three, three-point shots in a row to retake the lead.
- DSU cut it down to 60-57 but could not get the tying bucket.
- The Lady Statesmen had 20 offensive rebounds, the most in a single game this season.
