CLEVELAND, Miss. -- The Lady Statesmen (4-7 overall, 3-4 GSC) outscored the Alabama Huntsville (3-6, 3-3) in every quarter except for the second of the Charger's 54-47 win at Sillers Coliseum on Friday night. The Lady Statesmen allowed only one Charger reached double figures, but 8 different players contributed on the score sheet for UAH.
The Chargers also held advantages in statistical categories that the Lady Statesmen usually rely on, such as points in the paint (26-20) and second-chance points (11-4). Alabama Huntsville also out-rebounded DSU 34-24.
Camryn Davis and
Michelle Smith finished tied for the team-high with 13 points each, including 3 mad three-pointers for Smith. Davis also captured 8 rebounds and a block; both also recorded 2 assists each.
Alanna Smith also reached double figures with 11 points to go with 3 rebounds and 2 assists.
Grace Watson finished with 7 points and 6 rebounds.
