CLEVELAND, Miss. -- The Lady Statesmen (5-7 overall, 4-4 GSC) shot 44.6 percent from the field in their 67-54 victory over West Alabama (6-3, 5-2) on Sunday afternoon. Nine different Lady Statesmen made their way to the score sheet in what was a definitive team win for Delta State.
Delta State hit eight three-pointers in the game, led by
Ginny Higginbotham with five from beyond the arc. Higginbotham finished with 15 points, one assist, and one steal.
Michelle Smith led all scorers with 20 points on an 8-14 shooting performance. Smith also recorded 2 rebounds and 5 assists in the win.
Camryn Davis was the only other Lady Statesmen to finish in double figures with 12 points and a game-high 7 rebounds.
Alanna Smith recorded 8 points with 3 rebounds and 3 assists.
